FIFL Experience: Drafted 30th overall
(2nd round) by Fort Wayne in the FIFL Draft. Traded from Fort
Wayne to Springfield during week 7 of the 2014 season along
with a 4th round draft pick in 2015 for S Mark Blackburn.
David Dinkins was 46-17 all-time as a starter. He holds a
9-2 record in the FIFL Playoffs, and won two Gold Cups, going
2-1 all-time. First career start was a 28-13 win over Steel Valley in week 14 of 2010 where he went 21 of 34 for 311 yards with 2 TD's and an INT. Earned Offensive Player of the Game in week 5 of 2020 when he came in relief of an injured Sherdrick Bonner and went 15 of 22 for 212 yards and 3 TD's in a 27-21 OT win over Colorado.
Professional Experience: Dinkins a local
product of Western Pennsylvania (Schenley High School) who
has produced record-setting seasons at the Professional and
Collegiate level. Dinkins spent the last two seasons as the
Quarterback of the Erie Freeze of the American Indoor Football
League and established a reputation as one of the premier
players in the AIFL. Dinkins was the AIFL MVP in 2005, setting
league records for rushing yards (564) and touchdowns (30)
while throwing for 1,721 yards and 38 touchdowns. Prior to
joining Erie in 2005, Dinkins played for the Buffalo Bills
(NFL) for two seasons and spent the 2003 season playing in
NFL Europe for the Amsterdam Admirals.
College: Dinkins was one of the top quarterbacks
in the nation during his career at Morehead State University.
He was the only individual in I-AA history to pass for at
least 1,000 yards and rush for at least 1,000 yards in the
same season on three different occasions (1998, 1999 and 2000).
Dinkins held the distinction of being the only player in I-AA
history to rush for more than 3,000 yards and pass for more
than 5,000 yards in a career. Dinkins broke or tied 19 Morehead
State records during his three years playing and finished
his collegiate career with 5,572 passing yards and 53 touchdowns
and 3,765 rushing yards with 63 rushing touchdowns.

has a cousin Darnell Dinkins who is currently on the Cleveland
Browns Roster.
