WOODY DANTZLER
Clemson, 5'10, 209

Would you rather see him as a QB or RB?

College career

He redshirted the 1997 season and went on to letter in 1998, 1999, and 2000. In 2001 Dantzler became the first player in NCAA history to pass for more than 2000 yards and rush for more than 1000 yards in a single regular season when he ended the year with 2360 yards passing and 1004 yards rushing. In August 2001, Dantzler graduated from Clemson with a degree in marketing.

National Football League

Dantzler was signed as a rookie free agent by the Dallas Cowboys on April 29, 2002. He scored his first National Football League touchdown on December 8, 2002 when he returned a kickoff for 84 yards against the San Francisco 49ers. Dantzler went on to play for the Atlanta Falcons (as a running back, where he rushed for one touchdown) in 2003 and 2004 and again with the Dallas Cowboys in 2005 before being released September 3, 2005.

Arena Football League

Dantzler was signed to a two-year contract with the Chicago Rush of the Arena Football League in December of 2005. Woody won a championship in 2006, as the Rush defeated the Orlando Predators 69-61

The free agents have to be recovered by hand, quit yapping about it.

Draft list > vulture list, IMHO.

I remember him in college as a QB (didn't stay in the pocket much, but many college QBs don't) and as a kick returner for the cowboys in the NFL. Thought he was athletic enough to get a full time job but glad he's doing well in the AFL. Did Chicago give him a new contract (if he only signed a 2 year deal for 2006 and 2007, its up now right?).

Half the players in the indoor leagues played some other position in HS/College. Go with what he does as a pro, and if that conflicts between leagues go with what he did indoors since that is where the players we use come from.

Alternately, you could put him in as both, with appropriate stats, and an asterisk linking the two.... then whoever drafts him can decide which version to use.

ie
QB John Doe* 75 75 75 85 75 75 85 85
HB John Doe* 85 85 85 75 75 75 75 75

Portland drafts John Doe...
...prior to training camp Portland decides which position Doe will be playing.

I was in Dallas at the time he got started and saw that nice return. I was very impressed with him in Dallas' camp and was upset that they released him, but Parcells just couldn't deal with his size...too small.

I remember that they said he was a QB in college, but I remember him as an RB.
