Horsemen Trample Coyotes In Their Den

Post by rdaman »

The Horsemen opened up their season with an impressive win over the Coyotes, on the road. After showing that he deserves another shot in practice, David Winbush earned back his starting spot only to lead the league this week in all-purpose yards with 243 yards in the game. Oh, and he punched in 3 touchdowns, which is 60% of his total for last year.

Lexington got off to a quick start in the game with a 75 yard drive culminating in a rushing touchdown for Winbush. The Horsemen never relinquished the lead for the rest of the game. Warner had a below average game for him with 186 yards passing and 1 touchdown, but the way Winbush was running, he just needed to hand it off and occasionally screen it to Winbush and watch the show.

The defense played well this game. The final score of 31-20 didn't exactly tell the story of the game. The Horsemen had only allowed 6 points with less than 3 minutes left in the game. The defensive player of the game was defensive end Asa Owen with 3 tackles and 2 sacks, but linebacker A.J. Novak had a great game as well with 10 tackles and a sack.

The Horsemen will come home to take on Peoria next week. After the game Lexingtons GM said, "This was a good win today to start the season off on the right foot. We have to stay focused though with the Pirates coming to town. We split the series with Peoria last year but losing at home was unacceptable. I expect our fans to come out in full force next week and give us a huge homefield advantage."

Well, since you are new, CON's GM had a good season a few years back, but is rebuilding. With due respect, since you're new, pick on someone your own size!!! 8)
