NASHVILLE SELECTS CB MARVIN ROSS #1 OVERALL

The Nashville Kats have selected CB Marvin Ross first overall in the 2024 FIFL Draft. Ross is the 5th ever CB drafted 1st overall in a FIFL Draft, the last being CB Demarcus James by Portland in 2016.

Ross was born in Jacksonville, Florida on 5 May 1990. He started playing American football at Trinity Christian Academy and awarded second-team all-conference as a senior student. After graduating, Ross played college football for the Florida A&M Rattlers football team from 2009 to 2012. He had a career total of 113 tackles and 14 pass breakups with Florida A&M.

JOHNNY MANZIEL TAKEN AS FIRST QB IN DRAFT

The Fort Wayne Safari is looking for a change and has made it by drafting QB Johnny Manziel with the 4th pick overall in the 2024 FIFL Draft.

Manziel was born in Keerville, Texas. The 6'1, 200 lb QB attended High School at Tivy High before moving on to Texas A&M University. While with the Aggies, he threw for 7,820 yards and 63 TD's in two full seasons starting. His best season passing came in 2013 when he was 300 for 429 for 4,114 yards, 37 TD's, 13 INT's and ran for 759 yards and 9 TD's. He ran for an astonishing 1,410 yards and 21 TD's in his 2012 season.

SLATON SELECTED BY PITTSBURGH, REUNITES WITH WHITE

The Pittsburgh Gladiators has selected HB Steve Slaton 9th overall in the 2014 FIFL Draft. Slaton joins fellow West Virginia teammate QB Pat White, who Pittsburgh selected in the 3rd round of the 2022 FIFL Draft.

Slaton was born in Levittown, PA and went to High School at Conwell-Egan. Slaton ran for 4,171 yards for West Virginia between 2005 and 2007, with a career high of 1,863 yards in 2006. The combo of White-to-Slaton may return.

RENO SELECTS DE JOHN "J.D." GRIGGS IN 1ST ROUND

The Reno Express drafted DE John Griggs 10th overall in the 2024 FIFL Draft.

Griggs grew up in Piscataway, New Jersey, where he graduated in 2008 from Piscataway Township High School, and played for the basketball and football team.

Griggs enrolled at Nassau Community College, where he played football in 2010. Griggs enrolled in the University of Akron, where he played for the Akron Zips football team from 2011 to 2012. Griggs comes into the draft at 6'5, 244 lbs.

MARION SELECTS QB E.J. NEMETH IN SECOND ROUND

The Marion Mayhem selected QB E.J. Nemeth in the 2nd Round of the 2024 FIFL Draft, 20th overall.

Nemeth attended Sacred Heart University upon his high school graduation, continuing his football career. After two seasons with Sacred Heart, Nemeth transferred to King's College (PA) where he would use one season eligibility. After 2003, Nemeth dropped out to become a beer distributor. Nemeth re-enrolled in college in 2010 at Towson University, but dropped out due to financial restrictions.
