I'd like to ask everybody how defensive playcalling works. In the 'rules' section, I think the commish states that the LB1 calls the shots. I've heard from others that the LB2 is the real playcaller. I've read that depending on your PPP's that it could be different, but I always use one of the ''96 team' plans since I'm not, nor will I ever be, an expert in the PPP department. I want to get feedback from the group on what their perception is.
Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Good question Ian...I have wondered the same and will be very interested to see the responses.
I have always read (and based my roster on) that you should have your highest INT LB at the LB2 spot designating that player as the middle LB and the playcaller for the defense.
It does stand to reason that this could change depending on the PPP...

Here's what is says under the Rules page:
Linebacker #1 on your depth chart is usually the one calling defensive
audibles. Playing someone with high intelligence, as well as other
high ratings at this position is a good idea.
This definitely effects team Billings as my current LB1 is one of my dumbest players!

Thanks for the post Jimmy. I've always thought the LB2 was the primary play-caller, audible caller for the defense, but others thought the LB1 was the guy and nobody seems to 'know' one way or the other. You're diagram makes sense in that it would be the LB2 doing the honors, but whether that's really the case or not is in the code somewhere I guess.
