Endeavor to Persevere
Part One
From the murky Bayou in Louisiana rose an enigmatic WR in the 2013 season that showed much promise. The overall top two players drafted that season were WRs Troy Edwards and Peter Warrick. Drafted almost as afterthought, the 5' 10", 190# player found himself unappreciated and inactive in subsequent years due to his lack of strength on a team that featured a cadre of WRs well suited to the downfield blocking emphasized by the club at the time. His anxiety level was continuously on a roller coaster as the team tried many times to include him in trade talks. There were no takers even as he steadily improved with every training camp. The University of Michigan alum began to wonder if he would ever get the opportunity to compete for even an active roster spot. Prior to the 2015 season the club moved from Louisiana to Green Bay. Lo and behold, Russell Lee Shaw, Jr. was on the active roster for the 1st time that season, but still way down on the depth chart. His 1st significant action came in the 2017 season where he assumed the #3 WR slot. He held onto that position last season, continuing to gain experience while primarily returning kick offs. Shaw can’t contain his excitement for the start of the 2019 season... for the Green Bay Bomber public address announcer will introduce Russell Shaw as WR1.

Interesting...this team had the #4 QB by rating, #5 team passing by rating (as the QB1 got injured, I guess). High TD-INT ratio. Gave up few sacks.
However, the team was only 11th in passing in yardage. If Shaw can help to increase the passing percentage of the QB....watch out!
