Horse racing track in Delmar, CA has opened up and so has the current season of trading. Completing an aborted effort from last season the Portland Prowlers and Green Bay Bombers agreed to the deal that never was and possibly cost the Bombers a playoff berth. Recalling the moment, Green Bay was due to play Portland the next week. The trade would have put HB Lee Marks in Green Bay. The theory was Green Bay needed a bruiser running back and Portland would have to come up with a sub for their leading rusher. The trade never materialized and the rest is history. Prompted by the adage those choosing to ignore history are doomed to repeat it, the Bombers struck decisively out of the gate this season. RB Lee Marks is now a Bomber. Year 1 DB Dennis Weathersby is now a Prowler. Portland now owns Green Bays' 3rd rounder this season, effectively eliminated the Bombers from day 1 draft participation.
