Omar Jacobs wants to start (and other trade offers)
QB Omar Jacobs backup to all-pro QB Shaun King did speak out today about his role at Minnesota:
"I understand that Shaun is the starter here, but I think I am able to start on my own. I am at the peak of my physical developement I want the chance to play now, before I get to old."
(A QB1 2 Omar Jacobs OK 6 79 84 80 91 73 90 91 88 )
As a backup he had limited playing time so far:
Jacobs 2021 46 35 76.1 388 8.4 22 2 0 115.1 4-29
Jacobs 2020 2 1 50.0 6 3.0 6 1 0 95.8 0-0
Jacobs 2019 19 14 73.7 139 7.3 18 0 0 94.0 2-15
In week 3 of 2017 he came from Honolulu in a trade that gave another former backup to QB King a chance to start: Sherdrick Bonner
GM Marco Lambert commented on Jacobs:
"He is definitely a fine player and I can understand his wish to become the number one. However we will stay with Shaun King. Obviously any trade for Jacobs would need to include a new backup QB or an early draftpick so that we can get the needed replacment on our own. However if there is no reasonable trade offer I am confident that Omar will still give his full effort to help our team even as 'only' the backup QB."
In other news from Minnesota:

Also Minnesota offers all draft picks of the 2nd draft day (5th round Portland and their own 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th round draft pick) for a top 3 draft pick of round 5)
Minnesotas needs are a young backup QB, WR/TE and young talented Defense, better draft positions are also allways welcome
