Fort Wayne welcomes the Wichita Warlords

Post by Mike »

Fort Wayne (AP) - Big smiles all over town as the home team is literally laying out the red carpet for the #2 Power-Ranked Wichita Warlords. It appears to be a game of opposites, as the #2 passing attack of the Warlords engages with the #1 rated (Rating) defence, which is #2 in yards given up and #3 in points given up. In particular, WCH has tossed a league-high 14 passing TDs, whereas Fort Wayne has more INTs (3) than passing TDs given up (2).

On the other side of the ball, the #4 rushing team meets the #6 rush D, but the FWS lost its C1 to injury. Then again, the WCH D is banged up too. A weak FWS passing attack has been bolstered by the benching of WR Rod Windor (rookie, 7th overall pick) and the promotion of quick WR2 McGriff, who was the offensive player of the game last week.

Rumour has it that FWS is in trade talks to improve both its passing attack and its sacking power. If this is occurs, it might help to exploit Wichita's #14 ranked pass D and 12th ranked pass protection (25 sacks). Meanwhile WCH QB Joe Hamilton is banged up, and former Fort Wayne QB James McNear is his backup (2TDs, 141 rating). Although McNear is playing well, it is noted that McNear played in two different games this season.

Intrigue and subplots all around. FWS fans believe they might be able to topple the mighty Warlords, so are going to be on their best behaviour until gametime.
