Safari Ride over the Gladiators

Post by Mike »

Fort Wayne barely lost on the road vs the Bombers (pick on the 1 yard line, fumble turnover by the former Bomber Sands), despite a massive game. The Safari now hesitantly yet bravely walk into the Gladiators' pit...and have some new fighting techniques. WR Jordan's pre-eminence in the first half of the season has taken second place to the start of HB Jones with his 4.9 yds/carry. Clearly, the HB will be the go-to guy.

Or, maybe the story will be one of PIT's quarterbacking. Foggie, a former draft pick of FWS, is injured with a mild concussion (will he pass to his former team?) and Harrell's cannon is up to the task. However, the Gladiator's #1 WR, Brown, is also injured with a knee issue.

Oddly, despite four huge injuries to starters (LB Harrison, Bell, Neal all Q3 or worse), the Safari are hitting their stride with a two -game winning streak. If the Safari's O-Line can hold off the 3 defensive gladiators of pittsburgh who have 7 sacks each (!) they have a chance to leave gladiator blood all over the arena.

The emperor has put thumbs down on PIT's hopes...

Congrats to the Gladiators on winning a hard-fought game. With five picks in total, no offence was playing their best. Fort Wayne was up 17-0 at the end of the first quarter, but the Gladiators battled back.
