2026 Playoff Race(s) Springfield Conference

Post by Mike »

Fort Wayne 6-4
@ CHE (lose)
@ COL (lose)
@ TEN (Lose)
Vs con (win)
7-5
Fort Wayne is 1-4 on the road (Nashville). Tough schedule and QB Manziel is throwing a lot of pics. Manziel is reportedly distracted by the Commish referring to him as a boozer, and that is distracting from his game. He may have to go to FIFL-world rehab this offseason, which is great as the Commish would increase discipline by 20, perfect for this QB who threw seven ^$%$#% picks this year already! The running game has big names who are high-maintenance RBs. This team was slated to be last in the division but is suprisingly on top. 7-5 not enough to make the playoffs.

TEN 6-4
@ MIN (lose)
@ SPR (lose)
vs FWS (win)
vs NAS (win)
8-6 playoffs
Oh how the mighty have fallen! Actually they are #2 in the division but their 1 win on the road is not promising. #3 in Defence worked for years...until it didn't. #16 in passing yards means the team can't come back. Best two DTs in the league, bar none. Don't underestimate S Underwood. Just that this team is not a road-runner!

SPR 5-5 will win the Gold Cup if we listen to the owner! Who am I kidding? The mightly Slayers were merely toying with us. Now they will win four straight to 9-5 and take the Division. Their Conference Record is second to Chesepeake's so that should help with any ranking challenges. However, that is not an issue as SPR is so great...they were just toying with us.

CHE 8-2
vs Fort Wayne (win)
@ CON Lose
@ ROC win
vs PIT lose
10-4

10 wins. ROC may be a challenge on the road. The owner put out his PPPs basically daring us to beat him after he showed his playbook off. . Only happened twice this season (losses). Not as high-scoring a team as some in the National, but still is #1 in scoring in the American. They play a tough defence, best in the league in scoring against. They are 2nd in the league in rushing after SJO. Nobody wants to play this team...but they aren't perfect.

CON 5-5
@ MAR (win)
vs CHE (win)
@ PIT (Win)
vs FWS (win)
9-5
Wow four straight wins, two on the road. That should position the CON Artists to get the last playoff spot over Fort Wayne. Balanced scoring and scoring against, so this team hangs out like a panther until it has a chance to pounce! Only one passing INT vs six for the CON defence. Opposing QBs should watch their own mistakes or CON will take advantage!

MAR, and ROC 4-6. Probably won't make it to 8-6 and have a team mentioned above drop down.

Update (and will try to consider how a team may need 'help to get in') Not sure about the tiebreakers.

CHE is in. @ ROC and vs PIT. Assume they sweep.

TEN is at 7-5. Leads the Div. vs FWS and vs NAS. 5-0 at home. TEN is #2 in sacks. FWS just gave up 11 sacks vs 5-7 COL. NAS can surprise, but Not this time. TEN clinches in the last week with 9-5.

That leaves two spots.

SPR @ MAR vs MIN. Given Springfield's GM's talk, you can be sure the Slayers are merely toying with us. 8-6 and they get in.

Last spot: FWS (6-6), ROC (5-7), CON (5-7) MAR (6-6).
FWS loses to TEN (based on above), then beats CON (0-5 Away) at home. 7-7 Finish
CON is eliminated as the max is 6-8 given the above.
ROC (based on above) lost to CHE, so max is 6-8. Out.
MAR: GM The Invisible Man has a 6-6 season, with 210 points for and 210 points against. Will they decide to be winners or losers or tie-ers? Based on SPR's bravado, they must lose at home for the first time to SPR. 6-7. Last game on the road at ROC. ROC will have lost two home games (CHE). ROC is sadly and surprisingly 1-3 in Overtime this year! ROC makes it 2-3 in Overtime games this year. MAR falls to 6-8.
