MORE News and Notes: Matchups…

- SI Cover Jinx? We hyped STV preseason as the next up-and-comer… STV went into the tank early and stayed there. We hyped STL after they were 5- 4 after week 9… THEY went into the tank, losing 2 straight and this week will be set loose in the viscous kennels of the division rival Mad Dogs. Regardless of analysis, this one has to be a pick ‘em. Madison made some moves no one expected, and, after all, is Madison… don’t ever count them out of any game. St. Louis has shown some resilience this season… but which team will show up? The STL O the last 3 games put up 14 12 14 points. That’s not going to get it done in this league (Read ‘n head Honolulu) We remember the former owner struggling mightily with offensive PPPs (AGGRESSIVE PASS, Please) and he didn’t get it done… OR is it a lack of personnel? Andy Kelly is certainly capable, though he is banged up this week. Josh Luedtke remains a viable veteran alternative. RBs are adequate. WRs are superior… who would not want to start Demo Odems and Anthony Stallworth? The O-line is very good technique-wise. We see trust to luck PPPs at fault here, IF there is any fault. STL has represented itself well this season… there IS something to be said for luck (see Black Hills, Portland)

- After capitulating from play off contention after week 8, and blowing up the roster, Madison is 2-1, including a tough 1 point loss on the road last week. Sound familiar? It should, because this is the Mad Dogs mystique. This week is for bragging rights within the division. GAME OF THE WEEK material.

- Crafty GM Miguel of the Dayton Skyhawks once again has his team in the thick of the playoff race. Fort Wayne this week is a breather… better hope no one gets broke, because they host division rival Madison next week, and will participate in a possible battle-royal at St Louis in week 14!

- The bulk of the Beast Gulf Division schedule reserved for the final 3 games of this season. Think the schedule maker/TV ratings advisor was consulted? Perhaps they saw this unfolding? This week is no gimme, as are the next 2 divisional tilts. Can the Beast tame the youngsters on the defensive side of this contest? DE Leif, LB Mills looking to future while stalwarts Jenkins and Harkins lick their wounds, Make the call? Mobile pads its’ lead on the 1st draft pick next season.

- Donavan one season will say must be the season of the witch? Wichita still a scary strong team. Make the Call? LIN 13, WCH 23.

- Knights better win the jousting tournament this week. Scooter is strong in Medieval events? FGO might finish 8-6 or 9-5? MEDIEVAL FIFL Rivalry! Utah thawing out this season? “… must be the season of the witch!...”

- Mississippi finishes 9-5? Give US this team for a season, we’ll win a title!?!. Good enough for the play offs? JUST good enough to eliminate the Beast this season?!?

- …”… do not avoid the difficult explanation…” Austin (nee Utah) facing an identity crisis one season removed… and sweating it out in the meantime… with good reason. The main reason LOU started JJ last week is that he started/played for WCH from 2003-2005… he had a clue as to how to get over. The Knights newly formed fall festival designed to mask the tough schedule this season? @FGO, @LOU, MAD… no given winner in any game? GM Ian back in the thick of things regardless of the division/conference crap… team just rolls on… it is an immense advantage that the owner understands… ever witness an off season owners meeting? It’s NOT pretty when Ian has his say… but his say is perhaps what keeps this league at its’ best… on edge, and improving. Neither GM overlooking this one… ANOTHER GAME of the WEEK!?! Make the Call? AUS, 13, FGO 19.

- Forget the spread, Portland wins… will it be enough?

- WR Anthony Payton at WR1 the difference in a close one… UNLESS the Wildcats get out to a LARGE lead early… Make the Call? Pick ‘em. Y’all don’t wanna mess with Billings late into a game, especially now… their IN/DI will kill you late… REMEMBER, this is the TEXAS TERMINATORS (don’t EVER mention that to LOU GM Hanlon) This team thrives on pissing opposition GMs off. They are no different now than when they were in the AFC. All this team needs to compete now and forever (in the Black Hills mold) is a dedicated owner. WR Anthony Payton happy to serve as WR1 and is deadly… and he’s a newcomer to a dangerous combination of talent… y’all have NO clue how deadly this team can be…

- We are just gonna post this… no review… blah blah blah… rock on…
