In 2003, Sherman Jones was a top-tier NIFL running back for Kearney, Nebraska's Tri-City Diesel (749 yards, 18 TDs for a team that couldn't throw the ball worth a darn).
But, he decided not to show up for training camp in 2004 (external reasons, I think, all of which I can fully understand). So, the Diesel were forced to scramble for other options...they done good.
The replacement running back for Jones, Wesley Cates, ran for 1,014 yards and 31 touchdowns on the 50-yard field. So, perhaps Billings' owner should be thanking Austin for more than just getting him in the league...
Sherman Jones is the reason for a star in the FIFL.

FIFL true to real life, it appears
Well, the performance of Sherman Jones seems to show he's checked out and Wesley Cates continues his fine play. Great real life story of two of our FIFL fav's!
